Loss & Light Healing Affirmation Deck

Lauryn Laszczak is an entrepreneur, somatic business coach, retreat leader, devoted wife and mother of 3, including her stillborn son, Ben. She guides women into a deeper exploration of themselves and the impact they’re capable of having through their living and business.

In the Fall of 2019, I woke up one morning to a very clear, intuitive hit that something wasn’t right.

My hand hit my round belly of nearly 32 weeks and in an instant I knew my baby was gone. That afternoon I gave birth to my stillborn son, Benjamin.

Three days later I left the hospital, my arms empty and my heart broken. When I lost Ben, I also lost myself.

I spent the next two years in search of ways to come back home to myself. Out of the many resources for healing that I enjoyed, including yoga, breathwork, writing and leaning into others' loss stories, I found comfort in being alone in my house, pulling oracle cards and creating space for Ben’s messages.

In the summer of 2021, while at a retreat surrounded by a deeply-held group of women, I heard Ben ask me to create a healing affirmation card deck. He shared the name Loss & Light, and the vision he had for this community. I leaned in immediately.

For the next 6 months, Ben and I co-created each and every affirmation. When we hit 44, the Universe led me to the most talented Illustrator, Lea Androić, who also had a baby boy in her belly. For the next 6 months we brought the diverse women of this deck to life.

In September, almost exactly 3 years since Ben’s loss, the deck made its debut into the world and into the hands of women coming back home to themselves at a retreat I was hosting alongside my best friend and fellow sister of loss.

It is my hope that this deck also helps you (or a friend you send it to) hold deeply compassionate space for yourself, bringing you back home, and reminding you that there is always light to be found.
